  • How do you Process Insurance?
We will provide you with a receipt (called a superbill) of the medical services you receive at each office visit. It will include the diagnostic and billing codes and you may submit that to your insurance for Out-of-Network reimbursement according to your plan. You may also submit a FMV receipt to your HSA (health savings account) or FSA (flexible spending account) for reimbursement. You will receive a receipt at each office visit showing the value of each service and diagnostic and billing codes included for submission for reimbursement. This will also document your medical expenses.
  • Why is Prevention Important?
Please consider this: Most cancers incubate 10 years or more before they are finally detectible. An even longer incubation period applies to the metabolic abnormalities that lead to diabetes. What environmental stresses and biological imbalances occur during those incubation years to serve as such fertile ground for cancer and diabetes? It’s the job of functional medicine to answer such questions and provide tailored rebalancing programs for individuals before they find themselves needing drugs, surgery, or medical appliances.
  • How Does The Clinic Work?
Each person’s situation is evaluated individually. We will have an initial consultation to understand the scope of your concern, previous evaluations and treatments and a thorough history. In functional medicine, we use the Living Matrix software to gather information through the timeline, and discover modifiable lifestyle factors that will readily address symptoms, and what labs are needed in order to delve into underlying root cause. Most of these health concerns (sometimes crisis) developed over years or even a lifetime. As Dr. McSwain commonly says, to remind people that some changes occur after effort and time, that “Rome wasn’t built in a day.” Assuredly, investing resources of time and effort and having a willingness to advance, can indeed make a monumental difference.
